Singing a Magnificat World

Luke 1: 39-55

The Magnificat is a bold claim on what God’s Kingdom looks like and who it is for, proclaimed by a young woman on the margins of society. It is not the sappy sentimentality of late-stage capitalist Christmas, but rather a vision of the new creation God is making. 

• What is your Magnificat? What do you do to “stare losses, griefs, and fears in the face”? Are these things you do alone or with your family or friends or in community?
• God is about to do a new thing--God’s new creation is a world of mercy, justice, and peace. What is the hope you are singing into creation this year? Be specific! Share your joy, just as Elizabeth and Mary shared theirs.
